KW Cycling Academy at FCV
In implementing COVID-19 safety measures/protocols, the KW Cycling Academy will follow the latest Return to Sport and Progressive Return to Cycling Guidelines of the Ontario Cycling Association (found at https://www.ontariocycling.org/covid-19-information/). All members should familiarize themselves with these items prior to participating in any club activity.
Beginning in late September a group of 14 KW Cycling Academy athletes ranging in age from 9 - 18 attended several Learn to Ride sessions at the tight 138m Indoor velodrome in London Ontario.
Fast forward 10 weeks and all the athletes have improved their speed, endurance & strength on the track by attending 2 sessions per week at the FCV. Many of the athletes are 20% quicker in timed efforts the squad have completed using Aerobars and Disc wheels.
With a very reasonable annual FCV Youth membership at $300... each youth athlete have already received more than their monies worth of value in track time.
Wicked Wednesday’s is a favourite among all the riders, we put many sprint and endurance efforts into our legs in a short 1.5hrs. Sessions begin at 5pm for the Intermediate athletes, our Cadets & Juniors attend the 6:30pm class on Wednesday’s... all of the class's are "sold out" each week.
Saturdays are also a busy day at the FCV, KWCA families are attend multiple sessions beginning with the Velo-Kids (introductory classes) early in the day. Our MTB & Road athletes put in another 3 hours of training late in the afternoon.
Our next scheduled Track 1 (Learn to ride) sessions are scheduled for early January. Mark your calendar... Sunday January 3rd & January 10th. If you are interested email: info@kwcyclingacademy.ca. to find out more information.
